Best known for her role as on-air host for North Country Public Radio in Canton, Barb Heller has been on the air since 1989 in the north country, and as a host for Folk Alley.com, an online music service, since 2005. She’s also a guitarist/songwriter with five albums to her credit, and has taught hundreds of teens and adults how to play fingerstyle guitar.
Heller has spent most of her life involved in live music and performance. As a host of the weekly NCPR bluegrass show String Fever, she promotes local and regional venues and performers every week on the air. During the summer months you are likely to find her emceeing a bluegrass festival, or managing the high tunnel greenhouse for Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County.
